Leader in Me® is a whole-school transformation model and process that helps students learn how to become self-reliant, take initiative, plan ahead, set and track goals, do their homework, prioritize their time, manage their emotions, be considerate of others, express their viewpoint persuasively, resolve conflicts, find creative solutions, value differences, and live a balanced life. The process helps students develop the skills and self-confidence they need to lead their lives and succeed in school and beyond. Noah Webster’s Student Lighthouse Team is group of student leaders who collaborate with staff and students in a variety of ways that encompass school service, leadership of the school and modeling of the 7 Habits which all enhance school culture.
Your child has been learning the language and meaning of the 7 Habits, as they are the foundations of the Leader In Me program. Each class has created a mission statement that has guided them in making decisions throughout the school year.
How can you help support what your child is learning at school? Easy – use the same language! By hearing the same language at home and school, we send children a strong message of what we believe is important and that we are on the same team. When parents and schools support each other, the sky is the limit!
